Ohmigodthisweek

You know what really grinds my gears? Weekend people. Why? Because I work in retail, and my Friday through Sunday involves waking up hungover, leaving my brain at home, and plastering on a smile as if your happiness is my happiness (I don't care). You know what makes me grin ear to ear? Badass shows all week long while you guys are stuck in your cubicles (you can still come out though, I only hate you on the weekends).

Tonight, Night Beats are bringing their tripped out psych blues craziness to The High Dive in Fremont. These guys are a hypnotizing combination of tribal rhythms, fuzzy blues noodling, and haunting vocals that make you feel like you're about to die in a Quentin Tarantino movie. They'll be on tour all month, so show some love and pick up a copy of their new limited edition 7" while it's still available.

Tomorrow night, French singer/actress Charlotte Gainsbourg will be appearing at The Crocodile. After having a near death experience involving a hemorrhaged head caused by a water skiing accident, she found inspiration for a new album IRM in the sounds of the MRI (IRM if you're French). Add Beck as a producer and you have a recipe for awesomeness.

Finally, wake your ass up Thursday night at The Funhouse with Android Hero. Come for the PBR induced kick-you-in-the-teeth hadcore music, stay for the hilarious witty banter in between songs.
