Remember that one time you were in a crosswalk and some asshole who could only be described as "Cousin-It having an epileptic seizure" almost turned you into roadkill with his giant van? Well that asshole was me, and I didn't see you because I was busy having my own one-man freakout party to Police Teeth's Real Size Monster Series, a CD that I've had in almost constant rotation since I first saw them at The Funhouse back in August. As my luck would have it, they soon went on a six month hiatus from live shows, leaving me to the aforementioned pedestrian-endangering freakouts. Lucky for all you Seattle foot soldiers, the streets will be short one asshole Thursday night while I'm at The Sunset in Ballard geeking out over the long overdue return of Police Teeth. If you've never heard them, their songs are endlessly clever lyrics floating on top of a hot mess of post-punk inspired guitar layered beautifully over bombastic drumming with catchy sing/chant-a-long choruses that will be stuck in your head for days. These songs are performed with an air of ferocity and enthusiasm that demand attention. Trail of Dead fans, eat your hearts out. According to their latest DirtSpace, this show means their new album should be released in the next few months. Pedestrians beware.
